each grade( alphabet ) has got a numeric equivalent (maximum 10)
the vales for grades are
S - 10
A - 9
B - 8
C - 7
D - 6
E - 5
U- BELOW 5(fail)
the gpa sore can be calculated based on the formula
GPA = Total(grade in each paper x credits of that paper)

Dont reduce the marks while got arrear it is very useful for students.pls....
please dont reduce the marks it will be affected too............and if i write a arrear exam and cleared in 3rd attempt means you will decrease . and there is no use of writting exam for me.
in annauniversity-coimbatore only doing this type of system.
in this type of system most of them affected in my class including me...........
so give the usual marks without decreasing marks........
if you are doing like this our cgpa is too low and we can not do further higher studies or any thing................
so kindly request you to tell give the grade pont as usual like all other annauniversity ........

if i write exam well means u did fail that sub..so what useful for this type of activities.. what can i do next exam..if i write well ...put nice marks..then only i can study other sub..this type of activities very affected in all colleges students..so please change this activities for students only...
Anna university Coimbatore recently announced that the current grade system is abolished with immediate effect and anna university affiliated colleges have been advised to with draw the mark sheets from 2007 batch and issue fresh mark sheets as per old system that is percentage marks obtained.But autonamous colleges are refusing to issue fresh mark sheets and hence many students are affected badly.Will anna university insist autonamous collges to issue freah mark sheets.This will help affected students to go for higher studies as well as for getting jobs.

hi sir i am pursuing 7th semester now and i have an doubt till last semester we had 50/50 that is internals 50 and sem exam 50 but now what is going to be the pattern for this year like 20 for internals and 80 for sem exam or asusual.
