Roger Federer wins made history Sunday as he won the 2009 Wimbledon title and has become the first man to gain 15 Grand Slam titles.
Federer won in his seventh consecutive Wimbledon final, which is also a record, after he defeated Andy Roddick in a bruising but exciting five-set match which lasted more than four hours. The score was 5-7, 7-6, 7-6, 3-6, 16-14.
Federer served 50 aces in the match.
Seven-time champion Pete Sampras returned to the All England Club on Sunday to witness Federer break his record of 14 Grand Slam titles.
Sampras, who played his last Wimbledon in 2002, watched Federer tackle Andy Roddick from the Royal Box alongside former champions Rod Laver and Bjorn Borg.more..
