A town where the word of law is not the police but Veera, a tribal who has, over the years, shifted the power equation of the place from the ruling to the have-nots of the area.

Dev knows that the key tp bringing order to any place is to vanquish the big fish; in this case - veera. In one stroke Dev manges to rip open Veera's world, and set in motion a chain of events which will claim lives, change fortunes. Veera, injured but enraged hits back starting a battle that draws Dev, Veera and Ragini into the jungle. The jungle which is dense, confusing, scary. And in this journey they must confront their own truth. A journey which will test their beliefs, convictions and emotions. Emotions which are as scary and confusing as the forest.

(ravan movie review)The forest becomes the battleground. The battle between good and evil, between dev and veera, between Ram and ravan. But when the lines dividing good and evil are blurring fast whose side will you take. When hate turns to love and good starts looking evil, which side will you battle for? Love is a battle that nobody wins but everyone must fight.

ravan movie review by behindwoods.com

If ravan is providing a huge opportunity to anyone, then it has to be abhishek. Well, any actor will benefit hugely from a Mani Ratnam film. But,in ravan movie review abhishek has got an extra special opportunity this time; something that no actor in world cinema has got to do - playing protagonist and antagonist (if there is a clear-cut distinction) of the same story in different versions. As ravan in hindi and as Rama in Hindi; this is one movie that will prove abhishek’s versatility beyond doubt. One can says in ravan movie reviewfor sure that his fame is sure to spread much farther with ravan. Aishwarya Rai seems to be a blessed actress; very few get three Mani Ratnam films in their career, this lady has. It will be enchanting to see the ‘most beautiful lady of India’ (supposedly) play the highly revered Sita. Priyamani gets a huge opportunity, so do Prithviraj and Munna. And, there will be a whole lot of highly respected faces like Karthik and Prabhu.

It has touched very ethos other than Ramayana we render. Ram good, Ravan bad , Sita abjucted and good winning over evil. People cant take different version. Secondly husband-wife(sic) working(unlike Dharm-Hema) whose career is not doing well.Thirdly the typical template sound(electronic) of AR Rahman.
