tnhealth.org mbbs merit list 2011


The tnhealth.org mbbs merit list 2011 admission was released here on Friday, a day ahead of schedule.

Nine students, who scored 200/200, secured the top ranks in the list released by the Directorate of Medical Education.


Sonu Rajan of Sri Sankara Vidyashramam Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Tiruvanmiyur, tops the list and is the only Chennai student in the top nine. She is a third year dentistry student who could not get admission for tnhealth.org mbbs merit list 2011 in 2005-06 due to low marks in the entrance examination. S.V. Manoj Kumar of SRV Boys Higher Secondary School, Rasipuram, has been placed second and V. Arun of St.Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Chengalpet, third.

The others in tnhealth.org mbbs merit list 2011 are: T. Dinesh of Sri Vidya Mandir Matriculation School, Uttangarai; S. Venkatesh, and K. Kamalakumar of SRV Boys Higher Secondary School, Rasipuram; A.M. Vignesh of Rosemary Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Palayamkottai; E. Manoj Kumar of SRV Boys Higher Secondary School, Rasipuram; and I.V. Priyamvadha of Bharathi Vidhyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Gobichettipalayam.

Since all the students had scored the same marks in tnhealth.org mbbs merit list 2010 , other criteria such as date of birth were used to rank them, according to Health Secretary V.K. Subburaj, who released the list. He handed over the first copy to director of Medical Education T.P. Kalaniti. tnhealth.org mbbs merit list 2011 is also available on the website www.tnhealth.org.
Total seats

Of the 12,274 candidates who sought admission for the MBBS/BDS courses tnhealth.org mbbs merit list 2011, 4.78 per cent was found ineligible for a variety of reasons. There are 1,483 seats in government medical colleges and 348 seats are part of the government quota in private medical colleges. Another 560 seats are available with private, self-financing medical colleges in the State.

The cut-off mark for OCs alone in tnhealth.org mbbs merit list 2011 this year is 197.25. Last year’s cut-off was 196.75. The other cut-off marks will be announced later, Mr. Subburaj said. A total of 85 BDS seats are available in the Government Dental College and 783 seats are available in 11 private dental colleges.

The first phase of counselling of tnhealth.org mbbs merit list 2011 may begin on July 4 and go on till July 9. Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of merit and allotted seats of their choice, based on availability of seats and colleges, following the rule of reservation. Individual call letters will also be sent to the students. The seat matrix will be available at the time of counselling.
